Detoxing! What's my take?

I have one simple rule: Don't start something that has an end date. Why? Because I believe it teaches you to have an unhealthy relationship with food.

I find it interesting that people think that we are just walking around with loads of toxins in our bodies and that to flush them out you need to drink lemon infused water or soups. I have spent many years studying metabloism to find out that's not how our body works. Our liver acts as a massive detoxifier (it's actually quite incredible). Do you want to know what the secret is? Everything in moderation! I know health professionals have been saying this for years, but it's true. If you feel that you need to detoxify your mind or your pantry, I'm all for it. Go ahead, throw out all the foods that you believe are cluttering your nutritional goals.
