Clean your hands!

Food safety is easily overlooked, but it’s so important (particularly in this Brisbane heat). There are four stages of food safety: Clean, Separate, Cook and Chill. I’m just going to talk about Clean today. This means first and foremost washing your hands! I know it’s simple, but it’s also easily forgotten. Your hands touch many different things throughout the day, meaning they are just continually exposing themselves to bacteria. When drying your hands, remember to use different towels for dishes and hands to minimize the spread of germs. You should always use clean and dry boards and utensil when preparing foods. Also don’t forget to wash fresh fruit and vegetables with water before consuming, you don’t know what (or who) they’ve been in contact with!
